Youth Minister Highlights Importance of Volunteerism in Strengthening Citizenship Values

Manama: Marking International Volunteer Day, Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, emphasized the significant role of volunteerism in reinforcing citizenship and social responsibility among Bahraini youth.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Tawfiqi noted that Bahrain is actively expanding opportunities for volunteer engagement, supported by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to empower young people across various domains. She highlighted that the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, are crucial in broadening youth participation in national initiatives.

Tawfiqi also acknowledged the efforts of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King's Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, in encouraging young people to engage in community-serving programmes. She commended the contributions of volunteers across youth centres, youth organisations, and ministry programmes, noting their dedication and positive impact.

The minister reiterated the ministry's commitment to enabling young volunteers and expanding initiatives that strengthen their role in national development.
