Ways to enhance Bahraini-Egyptian economic cooperation discussed

Ahmed Samir, Egyptian Minister of Industry and Trade, received here today Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League.

The two sides affirmed the distinguished strategic relations between Bahrain and Egypt and their peoples.

They stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral ties across various fields, particularly the economy, to be able to confront successive economic challenges in a way that would achieve food and drug security.

They underlined the importance of complementary industrial partnership among Bahrain, Egypt, the UAE and Jordan in enhancing joint cooperation and achieving Arab industrial integration, in a way that contributes to advancing economic relations among these countries to distinct levels for the best interests of their peoples.

They agreed on the importance of finding a joint working mechanism for cooperation in the fields of industry and aluminum, in addition to addressing opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the field of petrochemical industry to meet the needs of the local and foreign markets.

The minister and the ambassador also discussed ways to enhance and develop commercial, industrial and investment cooperation relations between the two countries, in addition to global economic developments and a number of issues of common interest.
