UAE Launches World’s Largest Endowment-Based Dates Factory

Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, announced the launch of the '1 billion Meals Dates Factory', the world's largest endowment-based dates factory. The facility will have an annual production capacity of 150 million food units, solely dedicated to supporting underprivileged communities across the globe.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the project was inaugurated in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence of the United Arab Emirates. The factory is a significant sustainable investment by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, aiming to provide a food safety net and contribute to worldwide efforts to combat hunger.

HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid emphasized that the endeavor reflects the UAE's humanitarian mission to assist those in need and its commitment to ensuring human dignity and a decent standard of living.

The factory will be constructed in Margham, Dubai, with a budget of AED 200 million, funded by businessman Mirwais Azizi. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. The facility will utilize locally sourced dates enriched with vitamins and minerals to boost nutritional value.
