UAE Air Defences Engage Iranian Missiles and UAVs

Abu dhabi: The UAE air defence systems engaged six ballistic missiles and nine UAVs launched from Iran on 27th March 2026.

According to Bahrain News Agency, since the onset of these Iranian attacks, UAE air defences have intercepted a total of 378 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,835 UAVs.

The attacks have led to the martyrdom of two members of the armed forces and a Moroccan civilian contracted by the Armed Forces. Additionally, there were eight fatalities involving Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, Palestinian, and Indian nationals.

Moreover, 171 individuals sustained injuries, with the severity ranging from minor to severe. The injured encompassed nationals from the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, the Philippines, Pakistan, Iran, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Yemen, Uganda, Eritrea, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Bahrain, Comoros, Trkiye, Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Jordan, Palestine, Ghana, Indonesia, Sweden, and Tunisia.

The Ministry of Defence has reiterated its readiness to address any threats, ensuring the protection of the nation's sovereignty and stability. This commitment is aimed at safeguarding the country's security, interests, and national capabilities.
