Transportation Minister Meets with UNDP Resident Representative to Discuss Cooperation

Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, received Asmaa Shalabi, the Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between Bahrain and the United Nations, particularly in the areas of transportation, telecommunications, and digital transformation, aligning with the Bahrain Economic Vision and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions highlighted collaboration in technological innovation, digital infrastructure development, and national capacity-building. Both parties emphasized the importance of supporting joint programmes and initiatives within the framework of the Strategic Partnership Framework for Sustainable Development (SPF) 2025-2029.



Shalabi expressed her appreciation for the Minister’s dedication to strengthening ties with the United Nations and advancing the SDGs, particularly in transportation and telecommunications. She conveyed her best wishes for further progress and prosperity for the Kingdom and its citizens.
