The Director of Traffic Operations and Control, Col. Adel Al Dossairi highlighted on Thursday that the General Directorate of Traffic has drawn up a plan for the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain (Triathlon), will be held on Saturday (December 7).

Bicycles will commence the game at 6:00 am at the parking lot of the Avenues Mall from the right lane of the King Faisal Highway. The contestants will switch from the to the traffic signal of the Bahrain Financial Harbour to the left lane of the King Faisal Highway to Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway to Zallaq Flyover, before reaching the right lane leading to Shaikh Rashid Equestrian Club at the junction under Zallaq flyover to the Zallaq road junction of the Bahrain Bay road.

They will drive on the opposite direction of the road to reach Al-Jazaer beach roundabout on the left lane. Then they make a U-turn and go to Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Highway until the ending point of the race at the parking lot of the Avenues mall at the 12:10 PM.

Immediately after the bicycles races, the running race will commence from the parking lots of the Avenues Mall to after the traffic signal of Bahrain Financial Harbour (King Fahad Cornish) and then going back to the mall’s parking lots at around 3:30 PM.

The Director called upon road users, especially those who will visit the mall or nearby areas, to cooperate for the success of the plan during the event period from 6 am to 3:30 PM. He said that the traffic route to Al Shira coffeeshop and the Children Kingdom would be closed during the race.
