Manama: The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) recently conducted its nineteenth meeting of the Spectrum Strategy and Coordination Committee, focusing on preparing Bahrain's telecommunications sector for upcoming global developments. This remote meeting was part of the TRA's ongoing initiatives to enhance the sector's readiness.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting primarily addressed Bahrain's preparations for the World Radiocommunication Conference 2027 (WRC-27), organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The conference aims to bring nations together to reach a consensus on the global use of radio frequencies, impacting mobile services, satellite communications, and other vital communication systems.
The Committee highlighted the critical need for early preparation for WRC-27. The decisions made at this conference are expected to influence global communication frameworks and facilitate the deployment of new technologies. Bahrain's active participation is crucial in protecting its national interests, fostering innovation, and ensuring reliable and advanced communication services. The meeting also examined regional coordination efforts with neighboring countries.
