Moscow: Dr. Asaad Hassan Al Shaibani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic, stated that Syrian-Russian relations are entering a new phase, marking this year as a starting point for overcoming the effects of a 14-year war. Speaking alongside Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister, Dr. Al Shaibani emphasized Syria's ambition to elevate its relationship with Russia to a strategic level that serves their shared interests.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Shaibani highlighted Syria's aim to attract foreign investments with significant reliance on Russian support. He further noted that the Syrian government has successfully ended drug trafficking within a year, which is part of broader efforts to restore stability and advance development in the country.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs announced that a Syrian ministerial delegation arrived in Moscow on Tuesday for talks with Russian officials. The delegation, including Dr. Al Shaibani, Murhaf Abu Qasra, Defence Minister of Syria, and several senior intelligence officials, is set to discuss bilateral cooperation and relations between the two nations.
