Survey and Land Registration Bureau Unveils Enhanced Geodetic Control Points Service

Accra:The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has launched its advanced Geodetic Control Points service, allowing public and private sector entities to request and inquire about the coordinates of high-precision geodetic reference points. This service is crucial for surveying, infrastructure, and real estate projects, offering accuracy at the millimetre level.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the development is part of a broader government initiative to improve service quality and streamline government operations. The processing time for coordinate requests has been reduced from four working days to two, while inquiries about application status are now processed instantly, a significant improvement from the previous one-day processing time.

The service is now fully electronic, with the application process simplified to a maximum of four steps. Improvements also include an enhanced user interface, simplified procedures, consistent service information across all channels, a reduction of at least 25% in the service-level agreement timeframe, and a 25% reduction in the number of approvals required.

Naji Sabt Salem, Director General of Survey at the SLRB, emphasized that the improvements would make it easier for entities to access accurate surveying data, which is essential for engineering, construction, infrastructure projects, and the real estate sector. These enhancements are aimed at improving transaction processing efficiency and meeting the requirements of development projects.

The bureau's commitment to continuous service improvement and the use of digital solutions highlights its focus on operational efficiency and user experience. More than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with 800 undergoing development and re-engineering across various sectors.

The enhancement efforts have incorporated feedback from Tawasul, the National Suggestions and Complaints System, investor feedback, and mystery shopper program reports. These initiatives aim to streamline procedures, improve service quality, enhance user experience, and support the government's digital transformation.
