Supreme Judicial Council holds meeting

The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) held its regular meeting remotely, chaired by Cassation Court President and SJC Vice President Chancellor Abdullah bin Hassan Al Buainain.

 

 

Al Buainain congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the members of the Supreme Judicial Council on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

 

The council welcomed the contents of the memorandum of the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments regarding enhancing access to justice (2021-2025) according to what was presented by Justice and Islamic Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, appreciating the initiatives of the SJC to develop the judicial system 2021-2023 that was previously presented to the council at its meeting in October, 2020.

 

The meeting discussed a number of topics including; The periodic judicial inspection reports and the ratification of the of the previous meeting.

The Board was also informed that Chancellor AlBuainain will issue judicial instructions to the judges regarding attorney fees in two matters; the first is the attorney’s fees that the client is obligated to pay to his agent (the lawyer), and the second is the attorney’s fees as they are part of the lawsuit’s expenses, and other judicial instructions regarding the work of expertise and the estimation of their fees.
