Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs Introduces Enhanced Digital Social Assistance Service

Manama: As part of government efforts to develop and re-engineer the quality of services, the General Directorate at the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs has developed the social assistance service, enabling beneficiaries to submit assistance applications electronically through easier procedures, contributing to greater service efficiency and an improved beneficiary experience.

According to Bahrain News Agency, under the developed service, the service completion time has been reduced from 30 working days to 14 working days, while the number of required documents has been cut by 50% and the service level agreement reduced by 25%. The application process has also been streamlined to a maximum of four steps, with services fully digitised at 100%, in addition to improving and simplifying the user interface and experience, reducing the paper forms required to obtain the service, and standardising service information published across various channels. These measures contribute to simplifying procedures, accelerating completion, and enhancing the beneficiary experience.

Ahmed Khalil Khairi, Director-General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, affirmed that the development of government services comes as part of the directorate's ongoing efforts to simplify procedures, enhance service quality, and provide beneficiaries with more efficient and faster digital services.

He noted that this development is part of the General Directorate's ongoing plan to modernise its services, enhance procedural efficiency, and advance digital transformation, in line with the government's direction towards providing beneficiaries with faster, more flexible and efficient services.

As part of ongoing government efforts to develop and re-engineer government services, more than 1,300 government services have been documented, translated, and published, with around 800 services undergoing development and re-engineering across various government sectors.

This is based on proposals and feedback received regarding government services through the National System for Suggestions and Complaints, Tawasul, investor feedback, and secret shopper reports evaluating government services, as well as the launch of guidance manuals and service level agreements.

These efforts contribute to improving procedural efficiency, enhancing service quality, strengthening beneficiary experience, and supporting the government's digital transformation journey.
