Strong Competition Marks Third Stage of Nasser Bin Hamad Cycling Tour for Amateurs

Manama: The third stage of the fifth Nasser bin Hamad Cycling Tour for Amateurs covered a distance of 130 kilometres across various governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain, passing several of the Kingdom's cultural and touristic landmarks.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the stage reflected the growing enthusiasm for cycling among Bahraini and GCC riders and the increasing interest in promoting sports culture across all age groups. The race featured strong competition among participants, who demonstrated high levels of fitness, skill, and tactical awareness.

Shubbar Al Wadaei, Secretary General of the Bahrain Cycling Association, crowned the winners of the 130-kilometre stage in the Bahraini amateurs category. Mohammed Hassan Jawad from Bahrain Giant Team claimed first place, followed by Saeed Talal Al Saadi from the same team in second, while Hassan Aqeel Thamer from TriLife Team finished third.

Mohammed Hassan Jawad continued his strong performance, earning three jerseys in this stage: the yellow jersey for leading the overall classification in the Bahraini amateurs category sponsored by Bapco Energies, the red jersey for the highest points scorer sponsored by Beyond, and the green jersey for the over-40 category, which was awarded to Aqeel Hassan and sponsored by Al Salam Bank.

Ahmed Al Haj, Chairman of the Organising Committee, crowned the winners in the category for GCC riders, Bahrain national team members, and residents. Saeed Hassan Safar from Dubai Police Team took first place, followed by Majid Saeed Al Khatri from Airworks Cycling in second and Adel Abdulbaqi from Al Wathba Andorra in third.

Hilal Jaber Al Harbi won the orange jersey for first place in the overall classification sponsored by Bapco Energies, while Saeed Hassan Safar received the grey jersey for the highest points scorer sponsored by Beyond. David Bessey won the pink jersey for the over-40 category sponsored by Al Salam Bank, and Mahdi Hassan Jawad took the purple jersey for the under-23 category sponsored by Marassi Galleria.

The final stage of the tour will take place on Saturday, November 8, featuring an 80-kilometre race, alongside a 40-kilometre women's race, a children's race, and a 10-kilometre handcycling race for the athletes of determination, marking the official conclusion of the fifth edition in a festive atmosphere celebrating community participation and sportsmanship.
