Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, praised the directives issued by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa during his meeting with senior officials, describing them as clear and decisive guidance on citizenship and the response to the repercussions of the Iranian attacks.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Musallam highlighted that Bahraini citizenship carries both honour and responsibility, requiring loyalty, commitment, and the placing of national interests above all other considerations. He also commended the efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, noting progress in government performance, constructive cooperation with the legislative authority, and the readiness of the defence, security, and civil defence forces. Al Musallam further praised the unity, awareness, and solidarity shown by citizens and residents in support of the Kingdom's leadership.
He affirmed that the directives to take immediate legal action against those who betray the nation or threaten its security, including reviewing citizenship status where warranted, underscore Bahrain's commitment to justice, the rule of law, and national security. The Speaker reiterated full parliamentary support for all measures taken to address the repercussions of the war, while stressing Bahrain's continued commitment to resolving crises through peaceful and diplomatic means in support of regional and global stability.
