Speaker Condemns Iranian Attack on ADNOC Tankers

Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, condemned the Iranian terrorist attack targeting two ADNOC tankers while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as a serious threat to regional security and stability, maritime navigation and global energy security.

According to Bahrain News Agency, in a cable to Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, Al Musallam said the attack violates international law, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and relevant International Maritime Organisation resolutions.

He called on the UN Security Council to take firm measures to ensure an immediate halt to Iranian attacks and safeguard maritime navigation and global trade.

Al Musallam reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain's solidarity with the United Arab Emirates and its support for all measures taken to safeguard its security, stability, and vital interests.
