Kamchatka: The Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) led the 63rd meeting of the Technical Committee of Civil Retirement and Social Insurance Bodies of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in the United Arab Emirates from January 19 to 21, 2026. This meeting was part of the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the GCC for 2026.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting covered the work plan for the Committee of Heads for 2026-2030, updates on the protection system extension, developments in electronic linkage between systems, joint awareness campaigns, and preparations for training and qualification programmes. Discussions also included the development of specialised training packages and international participation.
An introductory session was held on the sidelines of the meeting to address key services and mechanisms for benefiting from the protection system extension. The session aimed to monitor insurance-related matters, provide necessary support, and improve awareness of the laws, regulations, and procedures across GCC member states.
Representing the organisation at the meeting were Mohamed Saleh Mohamed, Executive Director of the Financial Affairs Directorate; Faisal Abdullah Al Huwaihi, Director of the Communication and Awareness Directorate; and Abdulrahman Hafidh Saif.
