Shura Council Secretariat Awarded Global Procurement Ethics Accreditation

Manama: The General Secretariat of the Shura Council has been awarded the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) Corporate Ethics Mark and Kite Mark accreditation in recognition of its commitment to applying internationally recognised ethical and professional standards in procurement and supply chain management.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the accreditation was awarded after the General Secretariat met the institute's requirements for institutional commitment to governance, transparency, integrity, and ethical procurement practices. Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council, stated that the achievement reflects the support for institutional development in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continued follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, which has contributed to strengthening institutional excellence and the adoption of international best practices across government entities.

She further noted that the accreditation was the result of implementing global standards in contract management, procurement, and supply chain management. This recognition is expected to support the General Secretariat's continued efforts to enhance administrative performance, strengthen governance, and reinforce confidence among suppliers, partners, and stakeholders. Al Abbasi highlighted that the General Secretariat is the first legislative body in the Kingdom of Bahrain to receive this accreditation and has been included in the professional register of accredited organisations maintained by CIPS.
