Manama: The Shura Council condemned the Iranian missile attacks targeting Bahrain and other countries in the region, describing them as a violation of international law and a serious escalation that threatens regional stability. The Council affirmed its full support for His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and for the government’s efforts led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, to safeguard national security and reinforce unity.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Council said the targeting of certain national facilities constitutes a violation of Bahrain’s sovereignty and a breach of the principles of good neighbourliness and international law. It warned of the grave consequences of continued hostile acts that could undermine regional peace and security. It underscored Bahrain’s full right to respond and take all necessary measures to protect its national security and safeguard its sovereignty.
The Council expressed full solidarity with the affected Gulf and Arab states, stressing that regional security is indivisible and that any threat to one country affects all. It stressed Bahrain’s right to take the necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and called on the international community to prevent further escalation and uphold international law. The Council commended the Bahrain Defence Force and security authorities for their readiness and urged the public to follow instructions from official sources.
