Shura Chairman Praises Arab Parliamentary Union on Its 52nd Anniversary

Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, commended the role of the Arab Parliamentary Union (APU) in advancing joint Arab parliamentary action and strengthening its presence in regional and international parliamentary forums in support of Arab causes.

According to Bahrain News Agency, on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of the establishment of the APU, Al Saleh sent a cable of congratulations to Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al Sheikh, Chairman of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and President of the APU. He expressed congratulations and appreciation for Sheikh Dr. Abdullah's efforts in strengthening cooperation, coordination, and joint action among Arab parliaments and councils.

Chairman Al Saleh highlighted Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al Al Sheikh's dedication to reinforcing the union's role in discussing Arab issues and formulating parliamentary visions and guidance that support development and progress across Arab countries.

Al Saleh emphasised the Shura Council's commitment to continuing its support for the APU's efforts and to enhancing coordination and consultation with Arab parliaments and legislative councils. This commitment aims to strengthen unified positions on issues of common interest and reflects the close and historical ties among Arab countries.

Additionally, Al Saleh sent a cable to Dr. Ahmed bin Alawi Baabood, Secretary General of the Arab Parliamentary Union, commending his efforts in advancing the work and performance of the union's General Secretariat. He acknowledged Dr. Baabood's contributions to achieving the objectives of strengthening cooperation and coordination among Arab parliaments and councils.
