Manama: Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, met with Mohamed Ould Errachid, Chairman of the House of Councillors of Morocco, during the delegation's official visit to Bahrain at the invitation of the Shura Council Chairman.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the visit underscores the deep-rooted ties between Bahrain and Morocco and the ongoing efforts by both nations' legislative bodies to enhance parliamentary cooperation. The discussions focused on exploring avenues for collaboration and reviewing strategies to improve coordination and consultation between the two legislatures in the interest of both countries.
Chairman Al Saleh emphasized the growing relationship between Bahrain and Morocco, attributing this progress to the shared vision of the two nations. He highlighted the historical bonds between the countries, supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco. Al Saleh noted that high-level coordination reflects the depth and sustainability of the partnership, with both countries pursuing strategic partnerships that serve mutual interests.
Al Saleh reiterated Bahrain's support for Morocco regarding the Moroccan Sahara, stressing Bahrain's backing of Morocco's measures to protect national sovereignty. He also pointed out the importance of enhancing parliamentary cooperation, exchanging legislative expertise, and strengthening coordination in regional and international forums to support shared Arab causes.
The chairman praised Morocco's role in hosting parliamentary dialogues and forums, which contribute to strengthening joint parliamentary work and fostering a culture of dialogue and integration among peoples. He acknowledged Morocco's development and its capabilities, which promote growth across various fields.
Ould Errachid expressed pride in the visit and observed Bahrain's development in urban and economic infrastructure. He affirmed the strong ties between Bahrain and Morocco across numerous domains, reflecting the support of the leadership of both nations. Ould Errachid commended Bahrain's position on the Moroccan Sahara and the opening of a consulate in Laayoune.
He also highlighted the growing cooperation between the Bahraini Shura Council and the Moroccan House of Councillors, emphasizing the commitment of both councils to enhance coordination, exchange visits, and strengthen parliamentary diplomacy. Ould Errachid noted the active role of Shura Council members in Arab parliamentary work and their participation in regional and international forums.
