Manama:Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, engaged in discussions with The Rt Hon Stephen Doughty MP, Minister of State at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the United Kingdom. The meeting took place during the 22nd IISS Manama Dialogue 2026.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor, and Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Strategic Security Bureau, were also present at the meeting.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad highlighted the enduring relations between Bahrain and the UK, emphasizing their strategic partnership and collaboration across various fields. He reiterated the commitment to enhancing relations and developing cooperation, especially in security, military, and defence sectors, to serve the mutual interests of both nations.
The discussions included topics of mutual interest and an exchange of views on recent regional and international developments. Both parties stressed the significance of bolstering regional and international security and stability, ensuring the security of vital waterways, and safeguarding freedom of navigation to support regional and global development and prosperity.
