Manama:Lieutenant General His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, National Security Advisor and Royal Guard Commander, met with Asaad Hassan Al-Shaibani, the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, during the 22nd IISS Manama Dialogue 2026.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was also attended by Shaikh Khalid bin Ali bin Jaber Al Khalifa, Deputy National Security Advisor, and Shaikh Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Strategic Security Bureau.
During the meeting, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad highlighted the robust relations between Bahrain and Syria, stressing the importance of enhancing bilateral cooperation, consultation, and coordination on issues of mutual interest. He emphasized the need to further strengthen bilateral relations to support security and stability in the region.
Both parties discussed various issues of mutual interest, exchanging views on recent regional and international developments. They underscored the significance of bolstering regional and international security and stability, ensuring the security of vital waterways, and maintaining freedom of navigation to foster regional and global development and prosperity.
