Manama:Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council of Health and Chairman of the Bahrain Diabetes Society, inaugurated the second Bahrain Diabetes and Obesity Conference.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Kingdom of Bahrain is focusing on preventing chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity by implementing health and awareness initiatives, promoting early detection, and leveraging scientific advancements and modern technologies to enhance healthcare.
The conference, a two-day event organized by the Bahrain Diabetes Society in collaboration with Education Plus, gathers experts and specialists from Bahrain, GCC countries, and Jordan. The program includes scientific sessions and workshops addressing topics such as diabetes and obesity in children and adolescents, early detection and prevention strategies, precision medicine, modern treatments, artificial intelligence and glucose monitoring technologies, cardiovascular health, diabetes care in schools, weight management, and insulin pump technologies.
