Saudi Ambassador Highlights Bahrain’s Leadership in Hosting the 46th GCC Summit

Manama: Naif bin Bandar Al Sudairi, the Saudi Ambassador to Bahrain, has emphasized the significance of Bahrain hosting the 46th Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit as a testament to its leadership in promoting Gulf cooperation. He highlighted Bahrain's steadfast commitment to enhancing cooperation and integration among GCC countries under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Ambassador Al Sudairi remarked that hosting this major event is a reflection of Bahrain's deep belief in the importance of joint action aimed at achieving Gulf unity. The Ambassador noted that Bahrain's role is crucial in facilitating constructive dialogue and consensus among member states, thereby reinforcing confidence in the GCC's ability to address regional and international developments with awareness and responsibility.

Ambassador Al Sudairi underscored the importance of the summit, particularly in the context of rapid regional and global changes. He noted that the summit is expected to strengthen agreement on unifying foreign policy positions and coordinating responses to regional crises. This would reinforce the GCC's role as a proactive body capable of influencing regional outcomes.

The Ambassador also highlighted the trusted role of Bahrain in advancing coordination on political, economic, and security issues of shared interest. He emphasized that the summit sends a significant message about the cohesion of Gulf states and their commitment to regional stability and cooperation.

Moreover, Ambassador Al Sudairi pointed out that successive GCC summits play a key role in preserving Gulf unity and reinforcing the GCC's consultative and coordinating approach. He mentioned that these summits serve as a strategic framework for shaping common political positions and addressing issues that impact the region's security and stability.

He further explained that the 46th GCC Summit continues a series of achievements, reflecting the shared determination of GCC leaders to face challenges with a unified approach. The Ambassador highlighted the pivotal role of GCC summits in achieving joint defense and security integration and addressing cross-border challenges such as terrorism, climate change, and energy and food security.

Ambassador Al Sudairi also touched upon the historic ties between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, describing them as a model of Gulf solidarity. In addition, the Ambassador commended the role of Gulf media in strengthening Gulf identity and emphasizing common goals. He stressed the responsibility of Gulf media to build a balanced narrative reflecting the official positions of GCC states and their developmental achievements.
