Royal Academy of Police Summer Camp Kicks Off in Bahrain

Manama: As part of implementing the initiatives of the National Plan to Promote National Belonging and Reinforce the Values of Citizenship, "Bahrainouna," the activities of the Royal Academy of Police summer camp began in its 16th edition. The camp is organised by the academy from August 16 to 29.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the camp is part of programmes directed at young people, contributing to the promotion of citizenship, reinforcing the values of loyalty, belonging and tolerance, and developing teamwork. It also aims to refine abilities, discover cultural and sporting talents and guide them positively, and make use of free time through purposeful programmes and activities. In addition, the camp aims to develop leadership and life skills among participants, enhance self-reliance and teamwork, prepare them for the future and enable them to deal with various challenges, as well as helping protect young people from crime and deviance and enhance their awareness of responsibility towards society.

The launch of the camp witnessed the raising of the flag during the morning parade, in an atmosphere that promotes the values of discipline, self-reliance and teamwork. The first activities of the camp included a visit to the Bahrain National Museum to learn about its collections and cultural and civilisational heritage that reflects the history of the Kingdom of Bahrain, as well as a visit to the Police Dogs Unit (K9) to learn about its duties and role in police work, in addition to a visit to the Police Museum. A number of workshops were also organised to develop participants' creative and life skills and abilities, discover and refine their talents, enhance self-confidence, communication and thinking skills, and reinforce the values of citizenship and pride in the nation.

The summer camp activities will continue through a range of purposeful programmes and activities that combine national, awareness, cultural, sports and recreational aspects, enhancing the benefits of the summer holiday in an educational environment that contributes to building the personalities of young people and developing their abilities and skills.
