Qatari Prime Minister and Bahraini Foreign Minister Discuss Bilateral Ties and GCC Preparations

Doha: His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, received Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs. The meeting focused on enhancing the relationship between Qatar and Bahrain, as guided by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of the State of Qatar.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions also included the preparations for Bahrain's hosting of the 46th session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the Arab States of the Gulf. The meeting explored the various topics on the summit's agenda and allowed the leaders to exchange views on issues of mutual interest.

In attendance were Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar; Mohammed bin Ali Al Ghatam, Ambassador of Bahrain to Qatar; Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Ambassador Nawar Abdullah Al Mutawa, Acting Head of the GCC Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
