Manama: PurePipe, the Switzerland-based technology company specializing in smart and sustainable piping systems, has announced the establishment of a global centre for technical testing and the assembly of Mobile Pipe Production Units (MPPU) in Bahrain. This announcement was made during the Gulf Gateway Investment Forum 2025, which was recently held in Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the project, with an investment of USD 60 million, is situated in the Bahrain International Investment Park. It marks a significant milestone in PurePipe's global expansion and demonstrates the company's confidence in Bahrain as a premier destination for investment in advanced manufacturing and clean technology. PurePipe's innovative piping systems and its patented digital platforms enhance the design, construction, and maintenance of water and energy infrastructure.
The company's mobile and automated production model allows for pipeline assembly directly at project sites, thereby reducing transportation needs, material waste, and potential environmental impact. Through its Bahrain project, PurePipe is testing pilot technical programmes across the GCC and Europe, including a collaboration with Gas Networks Ireland. This initiative is expected to pave the way for the full commercial rollout of PurePipe technology by 2026, supporting the transition to smarter and more resilient infrastructure networks.
Nick Cochrane-Dyet, Chairman of PurePipe, emphasized that Bahrain's strategic location, robust industrial base, and supportive ecosystem make it the ideal site for the company's global technical testing and Mobile Pipe Production Unit centre. This move reflects PurePipe's long-term commitment to smart infrastructure and sustainable growth.
The Bahrain centre will function as a platform for knowledge exchange, research collaboration, and skills development, in addition to its operational role. The company also intends to collaborate with stakeholders in the region's water and energy sectors to advance applied innovation, while focusing on training and developing Bahraini talent in areas such as automation, materials science, and digital systems.
The new PurePipe centre in Bahrain is anticipated to play a crucial role in expanding the company's global network and accelerating the deployment of advanced infrastructure solutions worldwide, building upon its current operations in the UAE and its growing presence in Europe and the GCC countries.
