Salalah: The Environment Authority in the Sultanate of Oman announced that it has been closely monitoring the developments of the fire incident in the fuel tanks at Salalah Port and confirms that air quality levels in the state of Salalah are within safe limits.
According to Bahrain News Agency, as a precautionary measure, the authority advised the residents of areas near the accident site to wear masks, close windows, move patients with breathing difficulties to suitable areas, and follow the news through official sources.
The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority also announced that it is making every effort to contain the fire, which may take some time, and to ensure that all security and safety procedures are followed in such cases. The relevant teams have begun firefighting operations with the support of the Sultan’s Armed Forces and companies operating in the area.
