Muscat, Oman is hosting 84th session of the Executive Council of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) under the patronage of Dr. Madiha bint Ahmed Al-Shibani, Minister of Education.
Dr. Ali Abdul Khaliq Al-Qarni, Director General of ABEGS, and members of the ABEGS Executive Council attended, Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
Dr. Hamoud bin Khalfan Al-Harthy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Education and Curricula, delivered a speech expressing the Sultanate’s honour to preside over the 25th General Conference for 2019-2020 session. He added that the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States has become a distinct Gulf entity, regionally and internationally.
The ABEGS Director-General, Dr. Ali bin Abdul Khaliq Al-Qarni, said, “When ABEGS Executive Council meets here in Muscat, this meeting is a celebration of the efforts exerted by Oman, its leadership, government and people, for building the Omani citizen and preparing him for a life of dignity presently and the future, which is also sought by the GCC leaderships utilizing all resources”.
The working sessions started. The first day meeting included a discussion of ABEGS program for the fiscal year 2020/2019, the report of the Director General and the budget of the Bureau, as well as its departments for the next financial cycle.
