Oil Minister Receives Advisory Committee of MaintCon 2026

Manama: Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, received the Advisory Committee of the 8th Middle East Maintenance, Reliability, and Asset Management Conference (MaintCon), led by Mashari Shaikh Mubarak, Chairman of the Supreme Advisory Committee of the conference.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting was attended by Dr. Raeda Al Alawi, President of the Bahrain Engineers Society, and Ahmed Jelwah, Chairman of the Gulf Maintenance and Reliability Society (GMRS). The discussion focused on the latest organisational and coordination developments related to the conference, which is scheduled to be held from October 12-15.

Dr. Bin Daina emphasized the importance of preventive and proactive maintenance for oil companies to preserve sensitive equipment and oil and industrial facilities, extending their operational lifespan. He highlighted the Kingdom's commitment to supporting specialized conferences that enhance the exchange of knowledge and expertise while providing insight into the latest technological developments. This contributes to improved efficiency in the industrial and oil sectors, aligning with the Kingdom's strategic objectives to ensure the sustainable operation of facilities at the highest levels of performance and safety.

He noted the wide participation in the previous edition of the conference in 2024 from various countries around the world, reflecting the distinguished reputation the conference has attained. This reputation has contributed to attracting many participants and specialists. He commended the significant role of the organising committee at the GMRS, in cooperation with the BES, in the success of all editions of the conference since its launch in 2010, highlighting the opportunities it offers for exchanging information, expertise, and modern technologies.

The committee reviewed the arrangements and preparations for the event, which aims to exchange knowledge and showcase the latest maintenance technologies. This includes panel discussions, interactive workshops, and accompanying activities, as well as discussions on relevant topics to advance this sector.

Members of the committee expressed gratitude to the minister for his contribution to discussions on organisational and logistical matters. They acknowledged the support and attention he provides, which have strengthened the conference's global reputation.
