National Guard Commander meets with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff

National Guard Commander, His Highness General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa, met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, in his office at the General Command of Pakistan’s Armed Forces in Rawalpindi.

Gen. Asim Munir welcomed His Highness, thanking him for accepting the invitation and participating in Pakistan’s celebrations of its Republic Day.

The National Guard Commander commended cooperation and the exchange of expertise between both sides, stressing keenness to further consolidate bilateral relations.

Both sides discussed issues of common interest and ways of boosting coordination between the National Guard and the Pakistani Army. They also spotlighted regional and international issues of common interest.

The National Guard Commander arrived in Islamabad earlier on an official visit at an invitation by Gen. Asim Munir to participate as a “guest of Honor” in Pakistan’s celebrations of its Republic Day.

HH General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al Khalifa was received on arrival at Nur Khan Military Base in Rawalpindi by senior officers of the Pakistani Army as well as Bahraini Ambassador to Pakistan Mohammed Ibrahim Mohammed and embassy staff members.
