Manama: Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, received Ambassadors of countries accredited to Bahrain at the Manama Municipality building as part of an orientation programme organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for members of the diplomatic corps.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the visit included a tour of the Municipal Exhibition and a briefing on the history and development of municipal governance in Bahrain. The Minister affirmed that ongoing efforts to modernise municipal services align with the Kingdom’s comprehensive development agenda, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and supported by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He highlighted Bahrain’s municipal heritage, which dates back to the establishment of Manama Municipality in 1919, noting that the recent restoration of the municipality building, originally inaugurated in 1962, reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to preserving its institutional and architectural legacy.
