Geneva: MP Ahmed Sabah Al Saloom, a member of Bahrain's parliamentary delegation, participated in a high-level meeting on "Parliamentary Action for Education in Humanitarian Crises", held on the sidelines of the 151st Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Geneva. In his remarks, Al Saloom stressed that parliamentarians worldwide have a duty to protect children's rights and ensure their access to safe and stable learning environments.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Saloom highlighted that, under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Bahrain has implemented several educational and humanitarian initiatives in affected countries. These efforts reflect Bahrain's commitment to education as a fundamental right for every child.
Al Saloom added that the responsibilities of parliamentarians extend beyond legislation and oversight to include humanitarian solidarity in defending children's rights and protecting them from the effects of conflicts and crises. He underscored the importance of unifying international parliamentary efforts to strengthen joint humanitarian action in this field.
He also affirmed Bahrain's support for international initiatives aimed at ensuring children's access to education in safe and stable environments. Al Saloom praised the IPU's focus on this issue amid rising conflicts worldwide and called for coordinated efforts to safeguard children's rights at all levels.
