Moroccan House of Councillors Delegation Visits National Charter Monument Exhibition

Manama: Mohamed Ould Errachid, Chairman of the House of Councillors of Morocco, visited the National Action Charter Monument. The visit aims to strengthen ties and enhance parliamentary and cultural cooperation between Bahrain and Morocco.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the visit included an introductory tour of the exhibition's halls, which showcased Bahrain's past, present, and future aspirations through interactive technologies, in addition to a display of models and documents related to the various stages.

During the tour, the delegation was briefed on the stages of Bahrain's developmental and administrative journey and the significance of the National Action Charter as a major historical milestone in strengthening popular participation and consolidating the foundations of the modern state.

They were also briefed on the exhibition's contents and collections, and the documentary materials and technologies highlighting Bahrain's history and national achievements. The delegation viewed the external walls of the monument bearing the names of citizens who voted on the National Action Charter on 14 February 2001, numbering approximately 220,000 male and female citizens, with a voter turnout rate of 98.4%. The vote was a historic event that strengthened the foundations of the modern civil state and marked a key starting point for Bahrain's modernisation and development.
