Minister of Foreign Affairs Attends French President’s Reception for International Space Summit

Manama: His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated this evening in a reception hosted by His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris, marking the first International Space Summit held on 9 and 10 September.According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Bahrain, the reception witnessed the attendance of several heads of state and government, ministers, and international officials who were part of the Summit. This event brought together researchers, astronauts, scientists, companies, government entities, international organisations, and the private sector, all aiming to invigorate global efforts in international space policies.During the event, Dr. Al Zayani conveyed the greetings and best wishes from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to President Macron. He praised France's initiative in hosting the summit, expressing hopes for continued progress and prosperity for Fra nce and its people.President Macron, in his address, welcomed the approximately 90 countries represented at the Summit. He highlighted the signing of over 50 agreements and the announcement of investments totaling £1 billion in French space-related projects. The French President emphasized France and its European partners' commitment to enhancing European sovereignty in the space sector, while being open to international partnerships with countries from the Gulf, Asia, Africa, and Latin America. He also stressed the necessity of establishing common international regulatory frameworks to ensure the sustainability of space activities.
