Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the execution of 1,171 inspection campaigns and visits from January 18-24, leading to the detention of 14 violating and irregular workers and the deportation of 88 violators.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the campaigns identified several violations related to the provisions of various regulating laws, particularly the LMRA and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures have been initiated to address these observed violations.

The LMRA reported that 1,135 inspection visits were conducted across numerous shops in all governorates, along with 36 joint inspection campaigns. This included 11 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 12 in the Muharraq Governorate, 7 in the Northern Governorate, and 6 in the Southern Governorate.

Various government entities participated in these efforts, including the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the respective Police Directorate of the governorates, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, and the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing. Additionally, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Social Insurance Organisation (SIO), and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority (BTEA) were involved.

The Authority emphasized the continuation of joint coordination with government agencies to enhance inspection campaigns throughout all governorates of the Kingdom. The aim is to address any violations or practices that may negatively impact the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm the Kingdom's economic and social security.

The LMRA has reiterated its call for community support in combating illegal labour practices. It encourages reporting violations through the electronic form on its website www.lmra.gov.bh, by contacting the authority's call centre at 17506055, or through the government's Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
