LMRA Conducts 255 Inspection Campaigns, Resulting in Detention and Deportation

Manama: The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) announced the implementation of 255 inspection campaigns and visits during the period of December 14-20. These efforts resulted in the detention of eight violating and irregular workers, while 87 violators were deported.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the inspection campaigns and visits also resulted in monitoring several violations related to the provisions of various regulating laws, particularly the LMRA and the Residency Laws in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Legal measures were taken regarding the observed violations.

The Authority noted that 242 inspection visits were carried out on shops across all governorates. Additionally, there were 13 joint inspection campaigns, including eight in the Capital Governorate, two in the Northern Governorate, and three in the Southern Governorate.

Government entities that participated in the campaign include the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the respective Governorate's Police Directorate, and the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science.

The Authority affirmed its commitment to ongoing joint coordination with government agencies to intensify inspection campaigns across all governorates of the Kingdom. The aim is to address any violations or practices that negatively affect the stability and competitiveness of the labour market or harm the economic and social security of the Kingdom.

The LMRA reiterated its call for all members of society to support the efforts of government agencies in addressing illegal labour practices.
