Manila: Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, met with Dr. Ahmed bin Talib Al Jabri, Deputy Chairman of Oman’s National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking, and his accompanying delegation. The undersecretary reviewed Bahrain’s labour legislation, which aligns with human rights principles and international labour standards, and highlighted the ministry’s efforts to support national initiatives to combat human trafficking.
According to Bahrain News Agency, he emphasised Bahrain’s commitment to further developing human rights frameworks, particularly in safeguarding workers’ rights without discrimination. He also noted the measures Bahrain has implemented to combat human trafficking, which have been commended by international organisations, and emphasised the importance of sharing successful experiences in the labour sector, especially among GCC countries.
Dr. Al Jabri commended the Kingdom’s progress in developing local legislation and measures to comb
at human trafficking and improve the labour environment. He called for enhanced cooperation between the two countries in this field.
