Manama: Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour and Minister of Legal Affairs, affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, continues to strengthen its efforts to combat human trafficking through the ongoing development of legislation and institutions, enhanced national procedures, closer coordination among government entities, expanded regional and international cooperation, and awareness programmes in line with international best practices.
According to Bahrain News Agency, marking the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, the minister said Bahrain's progress in combating human trafficking reflects its continued efforts to develop legislative and regulatory measures and strengthen institutional coordination through the National Committee to Combat Trafficking in Persons, reinforcing the sustainability and effectiveness of national efforts.
He said the occasion underscores the importance of continuing to strengthen cooperation and coordination at the national, regional and international levels, expand the exchange of expertise and best practices, and support joint efforts to combat this cross-border crime. He affirmed that Bahrain will continue to build on its national initiatives and achievements to further strengthen its position in this domain.
