Manama: Dr. Tareq Hamad Al Jalahmah, Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs of the State of Kuwait, visited the Muharraq Model Youth Centre, accompanied by Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, to review Bahrain's experience in youth work and promote the exchange of expertise and successful practices between the two countries.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Jalahmah was briefed on the centre's facilities and spaces dedicated to youth, which provide an appropriate environment for activities, programmes, and youth initiatives. The tour also included a visit to Al Manara Art and Culture Space to review its role as an interactive youth space that supports ideas, talents, and initiatives, while providing opportunities for learning, communication, and participation.
The visit included a presentation on the role and efforts of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and its programmes and initiatives aimed at empowering youth, developing their skills and capabilities, and providing a supportive environment for participation and creativity. A number of youth initiatives and experiences were also presented.
Dr. Al Jalahmah also met with heads of several youth organisations and was briefed on their roles, responsibilities, programmes, and initiatives, including the opportunities they provide to enhance youth participation across various domains.
Minister Tawfeeqi highlighted the depth of Bahrain-Kuwait relations and their longstanding ties, noting the role of youth in both countries in enhancing these relations for future generations. She emphasised the importance of continuing to enhance cooperation and exchange successful experiences between youth officials and organisations in Bahrain and Kuwait.
For his part, Dr. Al Jalahmah expressed appreciation for the youth programmes and experiences presented during his visit to Bahrain. He emphasised the importance of continuing to exchange expertise and experiences between the two countries to develop youth work and expand opportunities available to young people in Bahrain and Kuwait.
