Kuwaiti Information Ministry Refers Media Law Violators to Public Prosecution


Kuwait city: The Ministry of Information of the State of Kuwait announced the referral of a number of violators of media laws to the Public Prosecution due to the circulation of incorrect news and rumours through some media outlets and platforms.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the ministry stated in a press release that it monitored practices that violate the regulations and mislead public opinion amid current developments. The ministry noted that all necessary legal measures have been taken against the violators, and they have been referred to the relevant authority for the required legal action.



The ministry emphasised that freedom of opinion and expression is guaranteed under the law, but it must be accompanied by professional responsibility, accuracy, credibility, and obtaining information from official sources. It called on all media institutions and social media users to uphold responsibility and prioritise national interest to help maintain security and stability.
