Manama: Judo and jiu-jitsu competitions will begin on Wednesday at the Exhibition World Bahrain as part of the 3rd Asian Youth Games, featuring top Asian teams with strong records in both sports. High-level performances and strong contests are expected, supported by wide participation and keen public interest in the combat events.
According to Bahrain News Agency, earlier, the Games venues hosted contests across ten sports with a strong turnout from spectators. In weightlifting, winners were crowned in the 53kg, 58kg, and 63kg categories, while the girls' 69kg and boys' 79kg and 88kg events continue today.
Wrestling competitions also began with the participation of leading Asian teams, alongside ongoing swimming races at Khalifa Sports City, which featured ten exciting finals. In volleyball, Saudi Arabia and China advanced to the boys' final, while Qatar and Hong Kong qualified in the girls' category.
