Manama: Dr. Ramzan bin Abdulla Al Noaimi, Minister of Information, emphasised that celebrating the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence, observed annually on January 28, represents a global occasion of humanitarian and civilisational significance. This reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to promote coexistence, tolerance, and diversity as pillars of societal stability and global peace.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister highlighted that the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of Bahrain's initiative, presented by the King Hamad Global Center for Coexistence and Tolerance, to designate an International Day of Peaceful Coexistence, represents a significant diplomatic achievement.
Dr. Al Noaimi noted that Bahrain's international standing reflects global confidence in its model of peace, tolerance, and mutual respect. He emphasised that the Kingdom has historically offered an example of coexistence, rooted in a heritage of diversity and openness to various cultures and religions, making these values a cornerstone of Bahraini society.
The Minister also noted that through its ongoing initiatives and efforts, Bahrain continues to play a leading role in supporting international endeavours to promote a culture of peace, strengthen global stability, and foster shared human values that unite peoples based on understanding and mutual respect.
