Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Interior Minister of Bahrain, held a meeting with retired Air Vice Marshal Martin Sampson, Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies - Middle East. Lieutenant General Tariq Hassan Al Hassan, Chief of Police, was also present during the meeting. The discussion emphasized the significance of such engagements in fostering communication and exchanging perspectives.
According to Bahrain News Agency, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah praised the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for maintaining the security and stability of Bahrain amidst a complex regional landscape. He also underscored the comprehensive measures implemented by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to navigate these challenging circumstances. The minister noted that modern crisis management has evolved into a science based on anticipation, proactive measures, data analysis, and institutional collaboration.
During the meeting, the minister expressed his gratitude for the contributions of research institutions and their advanced academic studies, which aid decision-making bodies and foster a positive approach to tackling challenges. General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah highlighted the pivotal role of the International Institute for Strategic Studies in promoting global peace and organizing strategic forums and international conferences, particularly the annual Manama Dialogue, which serves as a platform for exchanging views on security and stability issues.
The discussions also touched upon policing challenges, exploring avenues to enhance cooperation and coordination, develop joint efforts, and exchange expertise. Additionally, the latest regional and international developments were reviewed during the meeting.
