Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, today inaugurated the new building of the Guard Training School. Upon arrival, the minister unveiled the commemorative plaque, officially opening the new facility, which provides key services, including licensing for private security and guarding companies and the training and qualification of personnel working in the private security sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister expressed his deep appreciation for the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continued follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the Ministry of Interior's security development, modernisation, and readiness programmes aimed at delivering advanced security services. He stressed that the future belongs to those who are best prepared and most committed to investing in people, knowledge, and technology.
The minister affirmed that training and professional development are fundamental pillars of policing, achieved through the application of modern scientific methodologies and the adoption of best training practices that meet evolving security requirements and enhance the ability to address security challenges effectively.
He noted that the opening of the new Guard Training School building forms part of a comprehensive strategic plan to strengthen security performance. During the visit, he was briefed on the school's operations and electronic services, including its integration with the National Suggestions and Complaints System and the Mawaeed appointment system, in line with the ministry's objective of providing a safe environment.
Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 22,000 personnel. In 2025 alone, around 2,150 private security officers completed foundation and refresher courses, with each training course accommodating approximately 278 participants.
The minister also toured the school's facilities and reviewed its operational procedures and services, stressing the importance of maintaining high standards of performance to safeguard the security and safety of all citizens and residents.
