Manama: General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior, received Priti Patel, Shadow Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, along with the accompanying UK parliamentary delegation, during the 21st IISS Manama Dialogue 2025.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue, a key event attended by representatives from over 60 countries focused on addressing foreign policy and security challenges in the Middle East. Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah expressed appreciation for the delegation's participation and reiterated Bahrain's dedication to fostering international peace and security. This commitment aligns with the royal vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, promoting coexistence, tolerance, and openness.
The Interior Minister discussed the significance of international collaboration in tackling transnational and organized crime, emphasizing the importance of expertise exchange and technological cooperation, particularly in the fight against cybercrime. He praised the Bahrain-UK partnership and their collaborative efforts to strengthen cooperation in police work.
The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Bahrain's Ambassador to the UK; Lieutenant General Adel bin Khalifa Al Fadhel, Deputy Minister of Interior; Major General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Deputy Chief of Public Security; and Major General Mohammed Bin Daina, Director General of Media and Security Culture.
