Manama: The Ministry of Industry and Commerce organised an appreciation ceremony to honour participants in the fourth edition of the National Promotional Initiative for the Commercial Sector, as part of its ongoing efforts to support economic activity and the commercial sector. Representatives of the commercial sector were recognised for their effective contributions to the success of the initiative.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, emphasised that the initiative supported consumers by providing a wider range of offers and discounts during the Celebrate Bahrain season, within a clear and transparent framework that protects consumer rights and enhances confidence in the local market. He noted that the initiative reflects an effective public-private sector partnership, contributing to economic activity, improving the experience of consumers and visitors, and supporting market stability.
He added that the initiative has become an important annual platform supporting Bahrain's vision of a competitive and transparent economy and strengthening the Kingdom's position as a preferred economic destination during the festive season. Launched by the Ministry through the Consumer Protection Directorate, the initiative aims to exempt promotional campaign fees and extend discount periods. This year, 2,080 promotional campaign licenses were issued, marking growth exceeding 72% compared to 2024, reflecting the initiative's positive impact on the commercial sector and market dynamism.
