Manama: Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, attended the launch ceremony of the inaugural edition of "The Business Year: Bahrain 2026," published by The Business Year (TBY) group. The event was marked by the presence of over 150 notable attendees, including senior executives, decision-makers, and investors.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized Bahrain's ongoing efforts to strengthen its role as a strategic hub for global business. He pointed out the Kingdom's adaptable, open economy, and its competitive economic and legislative framework, which creates a conducive environment for businesses to enter and expand in regional and international markets.
The minister also outlined Bahrain's commitment to comprehensive regulatory developments aimed at enhancing performance efficiency, transparency, and investor confidence. These initiatives are designed to streamline procedures, address challenges, and support sustainable economic development.
The report, developed over an eight-month period, draws from more than 160 exclusive interviews with ministers, executives, and business leaders. It offers an in-depth perspective on Bahrain's economic direction, its competitive advantages, and its evolving role as a regional hub for global commerce. The report also underscores the robustness of Bahrain's regulatory framework, the appeal of its investment climate, and the development of its infrastructure and national talent.
Khalid Abdulrahman Al Majeed, CEO of Edamah, discussed the company's investment strategy, varied portfolio, community-focused projects, and its contribution to Bahrain's economic objectives.
The event also included a multi-sector panel discussion titled "The Role of Key Sectors in Enhancing Bahrain's Position as a Global Gateway." The panel featured Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, CEO of Bahrain International Circuit; Maryam Hassan Mustafa, CEO of the Education and Training Quality Authority; Safa Abdulkhaliq, CEO of Export Bahrain; and Othman Ahmed, CEO of Bahrain National Holding Group. They deliberated on development opportunities within their sectors and their impact on enhancing Bahrain's competitiveness and economic appeal.
Clara Corominas, Country Manager of "The Business Year" in Bahrain, stated that the launch signifies the growing trust between the group and Bahrain's public and private sectors. She highlighted that the extensive participation and quality of dialogue reflect Bahrain's ambition and preparedness, and affirmed the group's commitment to showcasing these national experiences globally.
The event also featured a welcome address by Zayed Rashid Al Zayani, Chairman of Al Zayani Investments.
