Manama: Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, conducted an inspection visit to the warehouses of Maza Foodstuff Company to review the readiness of supply chains and ensure the availability of essential food commodities to meet the needs of citizens, residents, and the Kingdom’s strategic food reserves. He was received by Mohammed Ebrahim Zainal, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, and Mohamed Mahmoud Faqihi, Warehouse Manager, in the presence of several senior officials from the Ministry.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Minister emphasised that strengthening food security in the Kingdom of Bahrain remains a top priority, noting that the current stock levels reflect strong preparedness and that strategic reserves of key commodities are sufficient to meet local demand for several months in most sectors. He also highlighted the smooth flow of food shipments through continuous coordination with relevant authorities and the private sector to ensure uninterrupted food supplies despite regional or global developments.
Officials from Maza confirmed the warehouses’ readiness and the continuation of operations in coordination with relevant entities to maintain sustainable food supply chains and the availability of strategic goods in local markets. The Ministry also urged citizens and residents to shop responsibly and avoid excessive purchasing or stockpiling and encouraged reporting any irregular pricing practices or unjustified shortages through the consumer complaints hotline 80008001.
