iGA Integrates Direct Payment Feature to Virtual Customer Service Center

Manama: The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) has unveiled a new feature for its "Virtual Customer Service Center" on its corporate website (iga.gov.bh). This enhancement applies to ID Card and Civil Records services, Birth and Death services, and Building and Establishment Address services, allowing users to complete direct payment transactions during a virtual video call by scanning a QR code through the BenefitPay app.

According to Bahrain News Agency, this development aligns with the iGA's continuous efforts to expand digital services and bolster Bahrain's digital transformation. These efforts are in accordance with the directives of General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communications Technology (MCICT).

Shaikh Sabah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, iGA Director of Identity and Population Registry, highlighted that this feature is an additional option within the services offered by the virtual Customer Service Center. These services include issuing, renewing, or replacing ID cards, updating civil records information, updating residential addresses, and managing birth and death certificates. Shaikh Sabah emphasized that the aim is to support citizens and residents who face challenges with digital services, enabling them to complete transactions virtually through live video communication for a more seamless and convenient customer experience.

To utilize these services, users can access the Virtual Customer Service Center via the iGA's website and schedule an appointment for a virtual video call with a customer service agent. A Microsoft Teams link is then emailed to the user, facilitating direct video communication with the service agent to complete the transaction.

The center also provides sign language support for individuals with hearing disabilities through video calls with agents on the WhatsApp platform. This service operates from 8 AM to 4 PM, Sunday to Thursday, enabling users to communicate directly with customer service representatives for personalized assistance.

The iGA encourages citizens and residents to use the virtual Service Center for ID card, address, and civil status services. For additional information, users can contact the Government Services Contact Center at 80008001, utilize the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul) and its mobile app, or follow the iGA's official social media accounts at GAbahrain.
