iGA Hosts Workshop on AI Tools to Enhance Employee Skills

Manama: The Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) organised a workshop titled "AI Tools for Your Professional Success," delivered by the Innovation and Advanced Technologies Directorate team, at the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF), with the participation of employees from various iGA sectors and departments.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Khalid Ahmed Al Mutawah, Deputy Chief Executive of Operations and Governance at the iGA, highlighted during the opening of the workshop that organising this initiative reflects the iGA's commitment to developing the skills of its employees by providing advanced training programmes focused on promoting a culture of innovation and creativity in the workplace. He noted that the initiative also reflects the authority's commitment to provide a work environment in line with modern technological developments. He said that the workshop aligns with the requirements of the current era, providing iGA employees with a detailed explanation of AI technology, highlighting its benefits and challenges, and guiding them on how to benefit from available AI tools in the labour market.

Dr. Al Mutawah expressed his appreciation to the BIBF for its cooperation with the iGA, and also thanked the Innovation and Advanced Technologies Directorate team for organising the workshop. On her part, Latifa Al Abbasi, Director of the Innovation and Advanced Technologies Directorate at the iGA, emphasised that the "AI Tools for Your Professional Success" workshop is part of the national efforts aimed at adopting advanced technologies within government entities to achieve greater efficiency and innovation. She emphasised the importance of the workshop in helping employees explore a range of AI tools that enable them to work more efficiently, achieve better results, and save time, based on a combination of knowledge, practical experience, and interactive training.

The workshop introduced participants to the concept and importance of artificial intelligence, its impact on individuals and the workplace, the main uses and risks of the technology. The workshop also provided a detailed explanation of the concept of Prompt Engineering and how AI can be used to enhance interaction and deliver information. It covered the significance of generative AI, including the generation of images, texts, videos, and more, and reviewed the latest research and studies on AI's impact on productivity in the workplace.

The workshop concluded by providing participants with practical applications for the use of various AI tools, guiding them on how to optimise the use of these tools to enhance the quality of their work. The workshop underlined the importance of AI tools and encouraged participants to utilise them to develop their work.
